Abstract:Flowering and fruiting of timber trees have been recorded in Guyana for over a century. Although the data are dispersed over a large number of non-consecutive years, from 1887 until 1989, they give a very good estimate of the probability of a species being in flower or fruit in a certain month. Flowering seems correlated with peak sunshine, while fruiting is related to maximum rainfall.
