Complementary variational principles for the steady-state finite cable model of nerve membranes

Abstract:Maximum and minimum principles for the steady-state finite cable model of nerve membranes are derived from the canonical theory of complementary variational principles. An accurate variational solution is obtained in an illustrative calculation.
