| Abstract: | By employing a combination of stereospecific osmium catalyzed dihydroxylation of selected alkenes, and enantioselective lipase catalyzed kinetic resolution, nine alkenes were converted into nine enantiopure vicinal diols and nine enantiopure hydroxy butanoates. |
