| Abstract: | A protein one-half the size of and antigenically related to light chain was found in immunoglobulin and light chain producing myelomas. The kinetics of its turnover are not consistent with its being a degradation product of light chain. The possibility that this immunoglobulin fragment is a synthetic intermediate in light chain biosynthesis is analyzed and discussed in the context of other data on light chain biosynthesis. |
