Abstract: | Abstract The acaricidal potential of fourteen essential oils and fourteen of their major monoterpenoids were tested against the Two-spotted spider mite Tetranychus urticae. Two different time intervals of 24 and 48 hrs were used in evaluation. The assays after 24 hrs showed that mattercary, fennel, caraway, garlic, cinnamon, chenopodium and eucalyptus were highly potent. As for monoterpenoids, chlorothymol was found to be the most effective against T. urticae followed by thymol, carvacrol and cinnamaldehyde. |
