| 摘 要： | 莽山烙铁头蛇地方名白尾蛇，是中国特有种，只在湘粤交界的南岭山脉骑田岭支脉的莽山地区一带有分布。由于分布狭窄，数量稀少，是一个极为脆弱的种群。在各种因素的干扰和破坏下，其数量正迅速减少，有濒临灭绝的危险。目前境况十分令人担扰，如果不迅速采取有效的保护措施，就有可能在较短的时间内绝灭。

| Abstract: | The Mt. Mang pit-viper, Ermia mangshanensis (Zhao, 1990), is endemic to China, and found only in the type locality Mangshan (Mt. Mang), which is located at the border between Hunan. and Guangdong provinces and belong to Qitian Ling, a branch of Nan Ling Mountains. It is a very weak population for its narrowly distributed area with a few number of individds. Recently, the population of the Mt. Mang pit-viper is sharply reduced due to interference and destruction by various factors. It is critically endangered now. It is estimated to be extinct in the near future, if effective measures will not be adopted immediately. |
