| Abstract: | Stereospecifically labeled mevalonic acid was incorporated into the carotenoids of Rhodotorula. The randomized results are discussed in relation to mechanisms proposed for the conversion of isopentenyl pyrophosphate to dimethylallyl pyrophosphate and the prenol transferase enzyme system to Rhondotorula rubra. |
