Abstract:This paper presents a preliminary chemical analysis of the secretion of the subcaudal scent gland of the Woodmouse Apodemus sylvaticus . A statistical analysis of samples from various sites in the United Kingdom and Eire shows that there are individual differences in the secretion, differences between the sexes, differences between juveniles and adults and differences between populations.
