Authors:DEVOE R W  MOSES L E
Abstract:Study was made of groups of pregnant patients who were given various hematinic agents from the seventh month of gestation to term.Dilute hydrochloric acid given with meals in usual doses produced no appreciable increase in the hemoglobin concentration, erythrocyte count or packed cell volume. Iron therapy in the form of orally administered ferrous sulfate, or orally administered ferrous sulfatemolybdenum oxide, or as intravenously administered saccharated iron oxide had a beneficial effect on these three factors in the blood.
