Abstract: | The coral Desmophyllum cristagalli from a water depth of about 1700 m from Orphan Knoll in the North Atlantic is examined with respect to bioerosion. Macroborings are represented by Entobia, produced by boring sponges. Microborings comprise four distinctive forms attributed to the work of fungi. Micrite rims are reported from deep‐water settings. |
