Abstract: | The development of photosynthetic light reactions (photoreduction and photophosphorylation) was studied in cotyledons of cultured embryos isolated from stratified and non-stratified apple seeds (Malus domestica Borb. cv. Antonówka). The results obtained show the presence of an energy transfer inhibitor in the cotyledons of the stratified embryos.Abbreviations PSII photosystem II - HEPES N-2-hydroxyethylpiperazine-N-2-ethanesulfonic acid - ATP adenosine triphosphate - ADP adenosine diphosphate - CCCP carbonyl cyanide m-chlorophenyl-hydrazone - EDTA ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid; P, inorganic orthophosphate - TES (N-tris [hydroxymethyl] methyl-2-aminoethane sulfonic acid)This work was partly supported by the Polish Academy of Sciences, Contract No 10.2.10 |
