| Abstract: | Summary The virulent mutants P22 vir B vy and P22 vy mutants, both insensitive to mnt-repressor, transactivate the early genes of a P22 prophage. The transactivation of early P22 prophage genes depends strictly on the expression of gene ant ( antirepressor -protein) by the superinfecting P22 mutant and therefore occurs by derepression. |
