| Abstract: | Escherichia coli endonuclease III is not an endonuclease. It breaks the C3'-O-P bond 3' to an AP site in DNA by catalysing a beta-elimination and not a hydrolysis. Therefore, it is a phosphoric monoester-lyase. |
