A possible abrograptid graptolite (Abrograptidae,Graptoloidea) from western Newfoundland

Abstract:Jiangshanites (?)dubius n. sp. is the oldest abrograptid graptolite yet described. It was found in theUndulograptus austrodentatus Biozone of western Newfoundland. The specimens possess an extended rutellum and an isograptid orartus type proximal development with prosicular origin of th 11. No indication of a virgellar spine is seen. The proximal development structures of the specimens show the relation to Sigmagraptidae or Dichograptidae.
