Abstract: | Histopathologic study of early hamster embryos was carried out after fixation in Zenker's solution, alcoholic formalin, Bouin's fluid, 10% neutral buffered formalin, or 3% glutaraldehyde and staining with hematoxylin and eosin. Fixation in Zenker's fluid followed by postfixation in neutral buffered formalin provided superior preservation of normal embryonic subcellular detail as compared to the other candidate processing techniques. |
