| Abstract: | The activation of mitochondrial ATPase by DNP has been studied in different media (sucrose, choline-Cl, Tris-Cl, LiCl, NaCl, KCl, and RbCl). With fresh mitochondria the addition of DNP plus valinomycin inhibits ATPase activity in all media except in those containing potassium or rubidium, while the addition of DNP plus gramicidin inhibits ATPase only in sucrose, choline and Tris media. |
