Morphology and anatomy of the leaves of Bersama abyssinica Fresen. from Kenya and Uganda

The detailed morphology and anatomy of leaves of Bersama abyssinica collected in Kenya and Uganda is described. Certain differences are noted between the leaves of subsp. abyssinica and subsp. paullinioides and the significance of these is discussed. It is suggested that palisade ratio values might be a possible means of differentiating between the two subspecies.
