Abstract: | In this study, we report the cloning and expression of lipase gene from Pseudomonas fluorescens B52, a psychrotrophic spoilage bacterium isolated from refrigerated raw milk. Sequence analysis revealed one major open reading frame of 1,428 nucleotides that was predicted to encode a protein with a molecular weight of 50,241. The predicted enzyme was found to contain an amino acid sequence highly homologous to the putative substrate-binding domain present within all lipases examined to date. |
