THE NEWEST ADVANCE IN PATHOGENIC MECHANISM OF Streptococcus pneumoniae

The pathogenic process of pneumonia infected by Streptococcus pneumoniae includes adherence, inflammatory reaction, and cytotoxic effect of virulent factors. Therefore, the most effective way to prevent from the infection of Streptococcus pneumoniae is to stop the adherence of it to the host cell. Recent evidences also indicate that the virulent factors play an important role in the pathogenesis of the disease. The newest advance in virulent factors and the possible pathogenic mechanism of Streptococcus pneumoniae was reviewed in this paper. These have important significance in studying new vaccine, preventing from and curing the infection of Streptococcus pneumoniae .;
