| Abstract: | A formal stochastic partial differential equation is introduced as a model for the diffusion of a biological population with a fluctuating birthrate in an environment with a finite local carrying capacity. A unique solution is constructed for a related integral equation, and a perturbation expansion is derived when the fluctuations in the birthrate are multiplied by a small parameter. |
