Abstract: | A ferredoxin was purified as the pure state from a club moss (Lycopodium clavatum L.) and sequenced. The ferredoxin was composed of 99 amino acids and had a molecular mass of 10,728, excluding iron and sulfur
atoms. The ferredoxin sequence was rather distinct from that fromMarchantia polymorpha, Equisetum andGleichenia japonica. Based on comparison of ferredoxin sequences thus far established, the phylogenetic relationship between lower vascular plants
is discussed. |
