大黄蝠锥虫生活史的研究

大黄蝠锥虫进入实验媒介体——热带臭虫胃内后2小时变为上鞭毛体,第3天起在后肠形成后循环型锥虫。传播方式为污染。在大黄蝠体内潜伏期为1—2天,第6—7天虫体充分长大。未见分裂及细胞内的锥虫。本虫可感染小黄蝠;但末感染埤、螨和白纹伊蚊、致乏库蚊。虫体在NNN培养基中的发育和在热带臭虫中的发育相似。实验结果有力地提示本虫的天然媒介是臭虫,并很可能是Cimex flavifuscus。

STUDIES ON THE LIFE-HISTORY OF A BAT TRYPANOSOME, TRYPANOSOMA (MEGATRYPANUM) SCOTOPHILI

Trypanosoma scotophili from the bat, Scotophilus heathi could develop in Cimex hemip-terus, an experimental vector. Two hours after feeding, the trypanosome transformed into ep-imastigote in the bug stomach by moving its kinetoplast from the rear to the side or front of the nucleus. Thereafter, various epimastigotes, amastigotes, sphaeromastigotes, and trypanosome-like forms appeared in the mid-gut. From the third day onward infective rrietatrypanosomes were found in the insect hind-gut.Using, C. hemipterus as an experimental vector T. scotophili could infected S. heathi by contamination.In bats the prepatent period of this trypanosome was 1 to 2 days. It was fully grown 6 or 7 days after the infection. No intracellular stage and dividing form were seen.The different forms in C. hemipterus were also seen in the gut of several bugs caught from the body surface of the S. heathi in nature and very similar to C. flavifuscus. These hugs could also act as a vector for this parasite to infect S. henhi. No flagellate was found in the tick, Argas vespertilioni, nor the mites ef the genera Stedtonyssus and Spinturnix, all found on the infected bats. Neither Aedes albopictus or Culex fatigans could be infected by this parasite. . These results strongly suggested that the, natural vector of this trypanosome was a cimicid bug, very possibly C. flavifuscus.This trpanosome could infected S. temminicki but failed to, infect the bat, Pipistrellus abrammus.
