Abstract:Cover illustration Scaffold-free cell-based systems. This issue of BTJ, edited by Umut Gurkan (Harvard Medical School, MA, USA) and Feng Xu (Xi' an Jiaotong University, China) highlights several applications of scaffold-free systems such as cell therapies for tissue regeneration, in vitro functional tissue and disease models for drug sensitivity testing, cell-based biosensors, and drug delivery.
