Abstract: | Apicomplexan parasites are motile and invade host cells. The force required for this is generated by an actomyosin motor. In a recent paper, Baum and colleagues suggest that the protein formin regulates the polymerization of actin at the moving junction between parasite and host cell. This finding provides novel insight into the mechanism of host cell invasion. |
