A simple method for the purification of phosphodiesterase from Vipera aspis venom

A simple method for the purification of phosphodiesterase from Vipera aspis venom is described. The method involves chromatography on DEAE-cellulose and preparative electrophoresis on a slab gel of polyacrylamide. The final product appears to be free of 5′-nucleotidase and nonspecific alkaline phosphatase. Recovery of phosphodiesterase activity is greater than 40%.
