| Abstract: | The crystal structures of chymotrypsinogen-A and α-chymotrypsin are compared and the parts of the main chain which differ in the two structures are identified. Changes in main-chain torsion angles and hydrogen bonds are tabulated. The residues Asp(102), His(57) and Ser(195) are compared in detail. Possible relationships among those parts of the molecules which change upon activation are discussed. |
