Abstract: | Exposure of Ephestia cautella eggs to anoxic conditions retards the development of the embryo, causing a marked delay in hatching. Phosphine treatment results in little or no hatch delay in surviving embryos and produces characteristic ultrastructural lesions, mainly manifested as changes in mitochondrial organization. |
