Abstract: | Summary A lactate dehydrogenase deficient, high ethanol yielding mutant ofB. stearothermophilus was successfully co-cultured withC. thermocellum on cellulose. The co-culture produced 50% more ethanol and a 75% higher level of CMCase activity than theC. thermocellum mono-culture. |
