| Abstract: | Translation of mRNA for the light chain of murine immunoglobulin in a wheat germ cell-free system in the presence of stripped microsomal membranes from canine pancreas resulted in co-translational proteolytic conversion of the precursor of the light chain, reducing it to the size of the authentic light chain of immunoglobulin, and in co-translational segregation of the processed chains in a proteolysis resistant space of the heterologous microsomal vesicles. |
