Abstract:The effects of predation risk and habitat complexity on the efficiency of minnow traps to catch northern redbelly dace Chrosomus eos in laboratory experiments were investigated. Trap efficiency significantly decreased in the presence of vegetation and predators. These results suggest that the various antipredator behaviours used by prey fishes can affect trap efficiency.
