Abstract: | A rapid technique for the isolation of the elastin crosslinks, desmosine, isodesmosine, and lysinonorleucine, is reported. Elastin hydrolysates were fractionated by ion-exchange chromatography using volatile buffers. 95% of the desmosine and 86% of the lysinonorleucine were recovered. |
