Abstract: | Summary Effect of eight dicarboxylic acids and three monocarboxylic acids on pollen growth ofCamellia japonica was tested. While monocarboxylic acids inhibited pollen germination and pollen tube elongation, dicarboxylic acids, namely oxalic, succinic, suberic, adipic, sebacic, traumatic cis-1,2-cyclohexane dicarboxylic, and 3,3-diethyl glutaric acids stimulated pollen tube elongation stronger than indoleacetic acid. |
