Abstract: | SYNOPSIS. The effect of temperature on the stability of lysosomes in homogenates of T. pyriformis at pH 8.1 was studied thruout the temperature range 0–35 C and compared with the stability of lysosomes in homogenates of rat liver and kidney. The lysosomes from T. pyriformis are unstable on exposure for 30 min to temperatures greater than 10–15 C; this instability does not appear to depend on strain, culture medium, growth temperature or the presence or absence of agents which affect the stability of lysosomal membranes. |
