TRP channels: it's not the heat, it's the humidity

Abstract:The ability to sense dry or moist air - hygrosensation - is conserved widely, but the underlying mechanisms are obscure. A recent study has shown that TRP channels are required for hygrosensation in Drosophila, further expanding the repertoire of sensory modalities mediated by TRP channels.
