Abstract: | SYNOPSIS. The sporogonic cycles of Plasmodium schwetzi, P. vivax and P. ovale are distinctly different with regard to rate of sporozoite development and median oocyst diameter. Differences in the oocyst structure, particularly with regard to the presence of inclusions in those of P. schwetzi , were noted. These findings tend to support the continued designation of these parasites as distinct and separate species. |
