| Abstract: | Abstract Characters distinguishing the five genera of Trachicnthyidae are listed. Descriptions, illustrations, a key to identification, and distribution data are given for Optivus elongatus, Paratrachichthys trailli, Hoplostethus atlanticus, and H. mediterraneus from the New Zealand region. |
