| Abstract: | Peroxisome development is a dynamic process that may involve organelle fusion and fission events. Cells contain different types of peroxisomes that vary in protein composition and capacity to incorporate membrane and matrix proteins. The protein import machinery is highly flexible and includes a cycling receptor that passes the peroxisomal membrane. |
