Abstract: | Summary Murine non-transformed lymphocytes were immobilized by alginate and agarose entrapment. After lipopolysaccharide activation, immunoglobulin production was followed as a criterion of viability of the cells. In alginate beads, diffusion limitations result in cell death. In agarose, the production level of specific antibodies is 40% lower than with suspended cells while immobilization does not alter polyclonal antibody production. |
