| Abstract: | The sensibility to single strand nuclease S1 of DNA from Avian leukemic cells infected with Avian Myeloblastosis virus (A.M.V.) has been studied. The resulting DNA fragments were analysed by electrophoresis on agarose gels. Fragments of discrete size appear after 10 min of digestion when less than 1 % of the DNA is rendered acid-soluble. These fragments appear as multiple of a monomeric unit and are similar to the fragments produced by micrococcal nuclease digestion. In addition integrated proviral AMV sequences were preferentially degraded by DNAase I but not by S1 nuclease. |
