Synthesis and antibacterial activity of some 5-(4-biphenylyl)-7-aryl [3,4-d]-1,2,3-benzoselenadiazoles

A new series of 5-(4-biphenylyl)-7-aryl3,4-d]-1,2,3-benzoselenadiazoles were prepared, characterized by elemental analysis, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectral studies, and tested for antibacterial activities. The compounds were very effective against the tested Gram-positive bacteria; 7b was the most effective compound.
