| Abstract: | An isolate of Obesumbacterium proteus biogroup 2 was found to possess a formate-dependent nitrate and nitrite reductase system the activity of which was rapidly repressed upon exposure to oxygen. N-nitrosation of dimethylamine at pH 7·8 was characteristic of an enzyme-catalysed reaction and found to be dependent upon nitrite reductase activity. |
