| Abstract: | Following the discovery of the aquaporin-1 water channel over a decade ago, molecular techniques have been developed to examine the role of renal aquaporin water channels under numerous physiological and pathological conditions. The present article reviews current knowledge regarding the function and dysfunction of renal aquaporins in disorders of water metabolism. |
