| Abstract: | The minimum level of morphine administration necessary to produce physical dependence in rats was investigated. Rats received low doses of morphine (10 mg/kg) intraperitoneally once daily for 1, 3, or 5 days. Naloxone given intraperitoneally 1 hr. after the last morphine injection produced significant withdrawal signs after only three days. |
