Abstract: | Summary An extension to the model previously presented by Brown et al. (1988) is developed for the case of a conserved substrate that is incorporated into the cell structure. It is shown that the model can predict both an inflection point and a period of essentially linear growth. Effects of the adjustable parameters and the ability to predict experimental results are determined. |
