Abstract: | A teratological specimen of Emuella polymera Pocock 1970 is described. The specimen is a meraspid of degree 30, in which the normal mode of segmentation is disrupted. A unique feature is the development of two 'half segments', each consisting of an incompletely developed axial ring with pleura on one side only. The hypothesis is proposed that the abnormalities result from injury during ontogenetic development. |
