| Abstract: | Administration of pertussis vaccine to hamsters markedly affected their lipid metabolism. Four days after the administration of the vaccine a severe fatty liver was observed. Concomitantly, a rise in the serum levels of free fatty acids, triacylglycerols and ketone bodies was detected. It is suggested that an altered regulation of adipose tissue lipolysis might be at least partially responsible for the observed effects. |
