Magnetic resonance study of 13C-enriched glycophorin A reconstituted into phospholipid vesicles

$\text{[S-[}{}^{13}\text{C}\text{]}\text{methylmethionine-8 and -81]glycophorin}$ A was reconstituted into l-α-phosphatidyl choline vesicles. Results indicate that the $\text{S-[}{}^{13}\text{C}\text{]}\text{methylmethyionine}\text{-81}$ residue in the phospholipid bilayer has limited mobility and is not susceptible to dealkylation, whereas the opposite effects are indicated for the $\text{S-[}{}^{13}\text{C}\text{]}\text{methylmethionine}\text{-8}$ residue.
