Magnetic resonance study of 13C-enriched glycophorin A reconstituted into phospholipid vesicles

Abstract:[S-[13C]methylmethionine-8 and -81]glycophorin A was reconstituted into l-α-phosphatidyl choline vesicles. Results indicate that the S-[13C]methylmethyionine-81 residue in the phospholipid bilayer has limited mobility and is not susceptible to dealkylation, whereas the opposite effects are indicated for the S-[13C]methylmethionine-8 residue.
