| Abstract: | New water-soluble chitin derivatives, chitin phosphate of various degrees of substitution, were successfully prepared by the reaction of chitin with phosphorus pentoxide in methanesulphonic acid. These materials behaved hydrodynamically as typical polyelectrolyte, and showed high ability to adsorb metal ions. |
