Abstract: | Summary Transposon mutagenesis of a bile acid-utilizingPseudomonas
putida strain generated 5 classes of mutants based on their ability to accumulate steroild catabolites. Bile acids (up to 5%) could be fermented using mutant strains, to the appropriate hydroxy-1,4-androstadiene-3,17-dione type product in yields close to theoretical. |
