Abstract: | The salivary gland chromosome complement in Lucilia cuprina consists of five pairs of autosomes and two sex chromosomes X and Y, all with characteristic banding patterns. A standard map for the salivary gland chromosomes of this species has been prepared, and compared with the known map of Lucilia cuprina dorsalis from Australia. The differences in their banding patterns indicate the existence of different varieties within the same species. |
